Patriots Make History…Again

On Sunday February 5, Tom Brady does it again as the Patriots clinch their 5th Super Bowl win, the most in franchise history. Atlanta fans were could not contain themselves as the Falcons had a 21-3 lead at halftime. Their only mistake was to never underestimate the power of the  record-breaking quarterback, Tom Brady.

The first quarter of the game was truly uneventful and some even said that the game was the “most boring” in Super Bowl history, but that was before the Patriots had a wake-up call. In the first quarter, Julio Jones made a statement with incredible catches and shattering records no Patriot fan saw coming. Devonta Freeman soon had the first touchdown of the game for the Atlanta Falcons.

NFL MVP, Matt Ryan had a huge impact on the game with his throws to Martellus Bennett and Robert Alford, who both scored touchdowns for the Falcons to gain a 21-0 lead before halftime. The Patriots managed to squeeze in 3 points by the end of the first two quarters. It was now up to Tom Brady to lead his team into making the biggest comeback in history.

After Lady Gaga’s stunning Halftime Show, the Patriots kicked it into overdrive. Matt Ryan fumbled the ball, which was a very costly play in the overall score. The Patriots recovered the fumble and limited the lead of the Falcons to 28-12. Soon enough, Tom Brady gained confidence as he threw a few more touchdowns to his wide receivers and gained a 28-26 lead. Tom Brady threw one last time for a two point conversion and turned out successful, with some controversy. The game was now tied, and would go into overtime for the first time in Super Bowl history.

The Patriots come back to win it big as Tom Brady led his team to score first in overtime. The final score was 34-28. Brady could not hide his emotions as he embraced his wife and his daughter, as well as his parents. After the game, Brady said, “There was a lot at stake tonight. To beat this team and to get down 28-3, it was just a lot of mental toughness by our team. And we’re going to remember this for the rest of our lives.”
Not only was this the most nail-biting game of the year, the Patriots make history with their outstanding comeback and an overall astounding 5 Super Bowl rings. The Patriots, as well as the Falcons, will be back stronger than ever for the new year of football to come.Image result for super bowl tom brady
