Baseball hits off its season with success.

Ripon’s boys baseball, JV and Varsity teams played last Wednesday against Amador High school in a non-conference game.

The JV team has kept up a good record so far in the non-conference games having gone 4-1.

Last Wednesday in their game against Amador they easily shut them out, with a score of 8-0.

Ripon’s varsity team has also been playing well with only one loss on the record so far. They have played four non-conference games over all and their record stands as 5-1. So far they have played six teams: Central Valley, Lathrop, Summerville, Davis, Ceres, and Amador.

The varsity’s latest game was against Amador High where they won 14-2, an easy win for the progressing team.

Each game that is played the coach designates a player to stand as the “player of the game.” John Eicher #20 was designated this player of the game.

He was given the title due to him pitching a no- hitter.

“We have a good team this year with great chemistry and great coaching as well to ensure a successful season,”  Eicher said after the game.

He has been playing baseball his whole life and commits himself to the sport fully. Last year he was pulled up mid season to the varsity team. He is best known for his exceptional pitching.

Eicher said, “This season seems like it’s going to go well because we are off to a good start but we will have to see what the future has in store for us,”
