How Ripon Students Manage Their Time

Numerous students at Ripon High School do extra activities after school, whether they are participating in sports, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), Future Farmers of America (FFA), volunteering. These activities can make it arduous for students to do their homework and can be quite tiring. This is why time management is a consequential factor when it comes to doing extra activities. To do these activities, they have to either create schedules or manage their time.

I suggest that students that are having trouble managing their time should use calendars. I know that it could be a pain sometimes but it is worth it

Cortez is apart of FFA and also participated in basketball. Though it was difficult, Angelia had to drop basketball for FFA. She raised lambs every year as well as maintains a part time job. Students like Cortez rely on schedules to keep their busy life organized.

A study showed that 40% of males suffered from stress and 60% of the girls suffered from stress, but a different high school, that required students to have a schedule, resulted with stress levels being cut in half of what the other school had because of one little thing called schedules.

“I balance my time by focusing on cross country and homework. Later in the winter, I will be doing wrestling and track, and sometimes, I volunteer at Ripon Garbage Disposal. Don’t be too worked up about all the things that are going around and just focus,” freshman Jacob Allen.

It can be a challenge for to focus on homework, sports, and finding time to volunteer every day. Students like Allen are able to do it with a little bit of dedication.

“I keep positive vibes and always stay with people that are also positive. Try your best to write stuff done on a planner,” said sophomore Dalton Taberna.
