Quarantine Christmas Activities 2020

Quarantine Christmas Activities 2020

Because of Covid-19, lots of people’s hopes for Christmas traditions have been crushed.  Inviting big families over for Christmas dinner, doing secret Santa with friends, and getting a group to watch Christmas movies with are always something to look forward to.  The coronavirus has prevented many of these fun activities from happening.  Thankfully, there are still a good amount of traditions still available to do, even with the coronavirus looming over our shoulders.

Gingerbread houses have always been a favorite Christmas tradition, and you don’t need anything but your immediate family and some creativity to make one.  Christmas cookies are the same way.  The only outside elements needed to make these yummy treats are the ingredients themselves.  Both activities are time consuming, can be competitive if you want, and are overall fun for the whole family.

While this might not be as common as other traditions, driving around town and looking at Christmas lights is always magical.  Certain people go all out, especially the ones that sync up with a radio station in correlation to their house lights.  Additionally, you can complete this activity multiple times without it getting boring. As you go house to house, you may even come across one famous for their Christmas light displays.

Now, this last recommended activity isn’t very conventional, but it still works.  Picture an easter egg hunt, and replace the eggs with candy canes.  There you have it, a candy cane hunt.  This activity would be very fun in the snow, but even if it’s sunny weather, candy cane hunting is a small, lighthearted, contest fit to make for an exciting afternoon.

Just because we can’t be near each other in times like these doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate a holiday loved by many.  Thankfully, lots of activities are still doable, even with the social distancing policies implemented due to Covid-19.
