Boys JV Basketball 1/27

Varsity boys basketball had a rough game against the Atwater Falcons on Tuesday, Jan 17. In the first quarter the Indians were playing well and the score at the end of the first was 16-7 Falcons. The second quarter was hard to watch; the Falcons scored 15 and the Indians scored 2. Going into the half the score was 31-11. Coming out of the half the Indians had another rough quarter defensively and scored 7 points but allowed 25. By the end of the game the Indians came up short with a final score of 63-27.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, the Ripon Indians faced off against the Ripon Christian Knights. After the tough loss from the Falcons, they were determined to win this game. Unfortunately the Indians came up a little short, with a final score of 59-43 Knights. Bradley Reedy (Junior) states, “We could have executed a lot better, that was our biggest problem. So when we play them again we just need to execute our plays and we will be good.” They just needed to run their plays better but they will get it back next time they face off.

The very next day the Indians faced off against the Livingston Wolves and they were able to come out and win the game. In the first three quarters it was a great game. At the end of the first, the Indians were down one. At halftime the Indians were down by two. Coming out of the half the Indians cut the Wolves lead in half and it was a one point game. The fourth quarter is where the Indians took over; they scored 18 to Livignton’s 10. The final score was 51-44, a pretty low scoring game which just shows how good both teams’ defense was. Now the Indians remain a contender to win TVL champions and their record is 4-2. Currently Ripon is in 2nd place overall for the league. Good luck to the Indians in the rest of their season.
