Ed Sheeran’s new music

After almost two years, English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran released two new songs on Friday, January 6th, 2017 from his new upcoming album, Divide. The two songs are called “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill.” The full album is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017.

These two songs shattered Spotify records, and “Shape of You” became the top song ever for a single week, with over 52 million listenings. Sheeran broke the record of the most streams on the site in day one, with a combined total of over 13 million streams in 24 hours for both singles. He also became the first person in UK chart history to have both of his songs debut in the top two positions in the same week. “Shape of You” entered at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 while “Castle on the Hill” debuted at number six, making Sheeran the first artist to debut two songs simultaneously in the chart’s top 10.
