    No Powder, No Puff

The Red team’s(frosh-seniors) feeling of defeat all started in the beginning of the first half when Bianca Toledo, a sophomore, threw a pass downfield to Liliana Mejia, who is also a sophomore, who ran the ball in for the touchdown, putting the White team(sophomores-juniors) on the scoreboard from the very start.
“The powder puff game this year was very clean andI think everyone came in with good intentions of just to have fun” said junior Mia Benzinger when asked about the game.
Throughout the game both teams went back and forth with the ball. The red team battled it out primarily on the ground, giving Kayla Jacklich, a senior, a majority of the jet sweeps. She routinely broke free to the outside. However, the red team failed to score. Some key frosh-senior players were Kayla Jacklich, Shay Furtado, and Julia Diaz.
Kayla Jacklich mentioned, “It was super fun, it was exciting that all grade levels got to get together and interact with each other in a positive way. It was run very smoothly and there was nothing but positive comments about Powderpuff from the girls.”
In contrast to the red team, the white team took on a more balanced attack through the air and the ground that resulted in one sided game with the white team on top. Mia Benzinger, Myra and Bianca Toledo, and Liliana Mejia were some of the standout players for the white team
“It was fun and a good experience to have, I enjoyed it a lot,” said junior coach Justin Hansen
The game ended with a final score of 24-0, with the White team winning.
