Gas Prices Rise
As the school year is coming to an end, with just 32 days left, many people are looking forward to the vacation they have. Some want to stay at home and relax, while others want to go someplace else. And for those who want to travel a lot, unfortunately, gas prices are on the rise.
The highest gas price in the U.S. was recorded on July 7th, 2008, at $4.11 per gallon for regular grade fuel. Now, we need to keep in mind that that was an average price for a week. As summer arrives, the gas prices are slowly dwindling upwards. As of now, according to GasBuddy the gas price is $2.58 per gallon for regular fuel. The price has already increased from November. But, before long, the prices will rise again.
In the article California Gas Prices Reach Almost $4 a gallon, it states,“The average price in California stands at $3.87 per gallon of regular-grade gas, creeping up 22 cents from one week ago…..”
This news isn’t the best for the high schoolers who just got or have a licence, especially for those whose parents are not going to pay for gas. Now they have to use up much of their earnings for their car. But, fortunately, California is not in the very top for the spectrum of increasing prices.
But, what’s causing this inflation on gas?
As it states in an article from USA Today, “The firm says that the twin causes are ‘seasonal changes,’ which have to do with how often people drive as the weather warms and changes in refinery capacity.”
Though the gas prices are rising, that doesn’t mean your summer vacation has to be cut short.
