Last Saturday Ripon High had it’s second dance of the year, the Halloween dance that lasted from 8-11p.m. There were many decorations, and one stood out in particular. The Drama Club put on a walk-through haunted house that you could visit and get a few scares with friends, and to top it off, there were actors from Drama Club standing around ready to give you a good scare. 

“It was cool, the actors were actually pretty creepy looking.” Freshman, Drama Club member, Bella-Franco Carreno said.

Everyone who had a chance to take a walk through the haunted house agreed that it was a very fun idea, and was prepared well.

  “As someone who’s in Drama Club, the house was very thought out and planned really well, and a lot of effort went into it by the most amazing, hard-working people I know,” Said Franco-Carreno.

 In addition, there were decorations such as cobwebs and caution tape around to add to the excitement, but the haunted house took the cake.

“The jump scares actually did scare quite a few people. Screams from the actors and from the people walking through were able to be heard all night,” Franco-Carreno stated.

 There were also  many great outfits that had a lot of thought put into them, and it was clear to see which ones did.

“There were a lot of lifeguards, and the best costume was probably the Powerpuff girls,” stated Freshman Olivia Kahler.

The costumes ranged from cute to creepy, but they were all spirited. There was also very entertaining music, and it switched from rap songs to love songs and back again, equaling out to a very memorable night, and the DJ playing all the music was a Ripon High football player’s father, Mr. Cavazos, who has been a DJ for many Ripon dances.The amount of fun you had didn’t depend on the decorations, music or even the costumes. It all comes down to who you danced with and hung out with all night.

 “The dance was fun. I liked dancing with my friends,” Kahler stated.
