Meeting The New Freshmen
Every year the incoming freshmen come to Ripon High to see where their classes are going to be. They learn about all of the sports that Ripon High offers, as well as a bunch of other exciting things that their freshman year will hold.“I am really excited to become really involved in the school. The environment seems really fun ,” said at the end 8th grader Ava Keast.
It is amazing to have the high school make a day for the 8th graders to come, it helps ease their fears and doubts about the high school. It is a very nerve-wracking, but also exhilarating experience starting high school.
“My biggest fear is not knowing where my classes are,” said at the end 8th grader Natalie Becerra.
The 8th graders arrive on the bus to an abundance of Link Crew members cheering them on. They go into the gym and have a talk about all the fun new opportunities that await them. They then go and tour the school, they look at the JROTC area, FFA area, and any class that they request. After, they go to an amazing bbq for lunch.
“I was excited to see all of the classes the highschool offers and learn about tons of new things,” said at the end 8th grader Tatiana Moreno.
Although this day is meant for 8th graders to ease their worries about starting high school, it also gives link crew members a chance to meet new people. The Link Crew members also get to feel the excitement by welcoming the incoming freshman.
