Tom and Jerry Movie: Good or Bad
On Feb. 26th, a new movie was released that is one of the most classic duos of all time, Tom and Jerry. It is a comedy movie directed towards kids and family, the movie was produced by Chris DeFaria and was directed by Tim Story.
This movie not only had the characters we love, but it also had real people in it. Over the many years, the animation quality and frame rate have increased, and for each episode, there was a story or lesson at the end (the majority of the time, Tom would just in trouble or overall lose). In this movie, they were able to bring animation and real-life together, which has always been astonishing and awesome, but what this movie lacked was in its name itself; it needed more Tom and Jerry.
This movie talks about a rivalry that resurfaces when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the verge of the wedding of the century, making the desperate event planner hire Tom to get rid of Jerry. As violence follows, Tom and Jerry’s battle soon threatens to destroy the event planner’s career, and the wedding. Tom and Jerry are a duo dating back all the way to the 1980s and were and have been one of the funniest and most-watched cartoons, though their viewers have been dwindling over the past years.
Personally I really enjoyed the animation of the movie, it still had the original Tom and Jerry felling to it but unfourtnaelty the movie is focusing more on the human plot rather than showing us more of the cat and mouse chase down we all love.
Overall I would give this movie an 8.5 out of 10 because the plot itself is very interesting and it brings the original comedy with it, the only critique I have is that they should have focused more on Tom and Jerry and instead of so much character development.
