Feel the Rush of Girls Water Polo

Feel+the+Rush+of+Girls+Water+Polo

Ripon High’s varsity girls water polo team played Bret Harte on Thursday, Nov. 2, and beat them 21-2 with no subs! Their team has done a phenomenal job with an undefeated league season, and are going on to semi-finals for section playoffs their next game. Freshman, Reyna Biedermann, is the only freshman on the team. She has been playing water polo for 7 years and has accomplished getting onto the USA Women’s Development National Team. She has great leadership skills when playing with her high school team.

Biedermann says, “I just want to help my team succeed and help us be able to go far in this sport.” Biedermann puts a lot of effort into this sport and her other sports. She also has played basketball for 2 years, and swim for 11 years, but she considers water polo to be her best interest.

Biedermann says, “Water Polo is my favorite sport because I love playing it and it has always just come so naturally to me, since I love to swim and be in the water.” Biedermann likes to believe that a good routine and ritual before every game is a good way to play well.

Not only does she stretch before each game she also says she has, “A Mott’s Fruit Snack because it gets me ready to play. Along with that, I listen to the song Homecoming by Kayne West because it makes me feel amazing.” Biedermann is an excellent player that shows her abilities in the pool.

To see her play before the season is over, go watch the next exciting girls varsity water polo game against Sonora High School on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 4pm for their Section semi-finals!
