Ripon High’s varsity competition cheer team, The Aces, placed first overall in the Jamz Cheer Competition, on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Aces overshadowed the competition by showing off their skills and ability. Senior, Samantha Reading, has done comp cheer for four years and was very impressed with how the team improved this year.
“It was exciting to find out after the competition that we won Grand Champions, which means that we were the best out of all the teams. We have never accomplished that before,” Reading exclaimed!
The team this year has come out energized and ready to compete to represent their school. Reading also stated, “The team has just been really focused this year. We all have the same mindset and really want to win.”
Not only did Reading want to win, but freshman Jamison Rushing came out ready to shine on the varsity team. Rushing has done cheer for seven years and was proud that both varsity and JV got first place.
Rushing says, “It feels good to be on the varsity team because I have put a lot of hard work into cheer.”
The Aces definitely came out to sweep the competition off their feet at the Jamz Cheer Competition!
