The FFA Giving Tree is an annual tradition where the FFA organization sets up trees in various places around Ripon in order to receive donations to give to those in need. The two tree locations are at Ace Hardware and Tractor Supply. These trees have tags on them which give the listings of less fortunate children’s Christmas wishes. Anyone is able to come to one of these trees to purchase gifts for these children. Once a gift is brought, it can be brought to the Fire Department, Tractor Supply, or the Ripon High Main Office for FFA to collect. When gifts are turned in, FFA wraps all of them to give to families to help them provide gifts for their children and loved ones. Gift drop-off started on Dec. 4 and will end on Dec. 18. A simple act like this can bring Christmas cheer to a family’s Christmas.
AG teacher, Mrs. Morino states, when asked what her favorite part of the Giving Tree is “that it gives our students an opportunity to give back to other kids and to help out families in need.”
It’s vital to help support families of those who aren’t as fortunate. Contributing to this amazing tradition can bring joy to not only the receiving families but also to you, knowing you are helping a family.
“It means our kids get the opportunity to help out other kids in our community whose families don’t have the ability to have the same Christmas our kids are used to,” Morino adds.
If you are looking to give back to the community, make sure to stop by an FFA Giving Tree to help those who aren’t as fortunate.
