Ripon High kicks off Winter festivities! On Jan. 19, RHS announced the Winterfest Court nominees with a rally. The nominees were elected by students in their grade. The freshmen voted for their 3 candidates, sophomores, juniors and seniors did the same.
The rally started with rally commissioners, Elias Ramirez and Ricky Langenfeld, holding class competitions on who could chant the loudest, and with no surprise, the seniors won. Our rally commissioners followed that up by announcing the court nominees for all grades, starting with freshmen and ending with seniors.
On the court for the freshmen are Ava Hernandez, Chris Armanious, and Landon Winter. Tipeti Paini, Danica Potter, and Gavin Marlow were the sophomores elected. The junior class elected Claire Morris, Isaiah Green, and Mina Armanious. Lastly, the seniors voted on Katherine Eskes, Aliesha Sullivan, and Marco Cabello.
To finish off the rally, Leadership started to play a game. Ramirez and Langenfeld would tell the crowd to give their candidates a specific object, then the candidates would run and give it to commissioners. The sophomores and juniors tied, so a tiebreaker was held. In the final round, the juniors took the win. The rally was a success and we can’t wait to see how Winterfest Week and all the dress-up days go.
