RHS Boys wrestling team ended their month off with a humiliating defeat at their away section tournament against Escalon. On Jan. 27, there was a tremendous gap between their point differences. Escalon wins the battle with a score of 54 to 6.Ripon High had quite the set-back that Saturday, but it was not a total loss. Freshmen Gilbert Luiz and Kael Rangel were the only players to score against our competitor Escalon. Luiz explains, “We could’ve worked out more, practiced more stuff, but there [were] people being lazy and just didn’t try.”
The loss has helped them realize that as they are nearing the end of their season with only one more week left, the battle is still not over. The Ripon High boys wrestling team will face off against their rival once more on Feb. 3.
