At Ripon High School, numerous clubs and organizations provide opportunities for students to explore their passions. Among these groups is the plant club, established by senior Kira Basinal.
When asked about her motivation for starting the club, Basinal explained, “I have a personal interest in plants and wanted to share my enthusiasm with fellow Ripon High students who might also enjoy this hobby.”
The Plant Club at Ripon High School has already established a close-knit community where students can share their passion for plants.
Basinal, the club’s founder, shared, “To spread the word about the club, I opened an Instagram account and sent out announcements, hoping to attract more members.”
Basinal’s dedication paid off, as the club quickly gained a full roster of enthusiastic students who actively participated in club meetings.
Basinal proudly declared, “Our main goal is to educate people about plants while providing a welcoming atmosphere for students to gather and enjoy themselves.”
The Plant Club is an incredibly productive and engaging club that meets biweekly to participate in exciting, interactive activities. According to Basinal, members typically engage in a variety of plant-related endeavors during meetings, such as potting workshops and preparations for their upcoming Mother’s Day fundraiser, which involves planting seedlings.
The club is open to all RHS students with an interest in plants, providing a supportive and enriching environment for personal growth and learning.
