Boys Soccer Senior Night

Boys+Soccer+Senior+Night

The time has come where our skillful senior soccer boys say their final goodbyes to the Ripon High soccer program. This memorable moment occurred on Feb. 6, as the Ripon Indians played against the Riverbank Bruins.

Before the game commenced, Jose Navarro, an alumnus of Ripon High, got the ceremony started. All players were asked to get lined up to get their names called onto the field. With Navarro’s great energy, the players were announced one by one, getting accompanied by their proud families.

Congratulations to our seniors: Luke Bair, Marco Loredo, Octavio Raygoza, Ivan Serrano, Marco Loredo, Samuel Rodriguez, Navreet Singh and Jacob Lawrence!

“It felt nice having my parents walk me down,” Rodriguez states, “because it just showed how proud they were of me and that they will always support me.”

Once they were walked down to the middle of the field they were then given a baske

t by their team full of their favorite things. Soon after all the pictures were taken, the final game started.

The game was very intense and had the crowd going wild. You could feel the tension all across the RHS home field. The ball was moving at a very fast pace up and down both sides. All players were playing aggressively, connecting their passes, and assisting one another. Ripon ran a 4-4-2, consisting of four midfielders,

four defenders, and two forwards. The goalie, Rodriguez for the Indians, even got the opportunity to get out of the goalie box and play with his team for the last time. Unfortunately, the game did not go as planned. Riverbank took home the victory, winning 2-0. At the end of the day, all that matters is that the players had fun and played very well.

Good job Ripon High and good luck to our senior boys as they move on to a new chapter in their lives!
