During a full day doubles tournament on Friday, March 1, Ripon High’s varsity tennis team fought hard against several teams from the area. Taking place in Modesto, the schools that played together were Escalon, Millennium, Big Valley, Summerville, and Ripon High.
Senior Levi Lundrigan states, “I feel like I played well. I remained consistent on all my shots and let the other people make mistakes.”
Lundrigan, along with his doubles partner, senior Sahaj Gill, received first place trophies for their winning streak in their matches. Their different ways of playing worked out in their favor and they took out the other teams easily.
Gill says, “At first we weren’t really meshing well together, but then we got into a rhythm so it was really easy.”
The boys played well and took home the much deserved award. The team has their next match against Millennium on Friday, March 8.
Gill states, “We have a really good team this year, so I think [the season] is gonna go really well.”
