Mr. Perez is a CP/Ap World History and U.S. History teacher. He has been teaching here at Ripon High for 28 years. Perez lights a spark into his classes, making them fun and entertaining.
Perez grew up in LA, known for the entertainment and fame, but Perez wasn’t interested in the spotlight and instead found his true passion, History. His love for the subject led him here.
Perez loves to be active in the community and has been setting up a Teacher vs Student basketball game to enlighten the students and show the fun in high school. The only part that’s a struggle is trying to find people to play. “It’s very difficult because we’re all just a bunch of old fogies and no one wants to play against the kids anymore.”
Besides basketball, Perez is also very into playing dodgeball having his own team known as the Dingles. Perez now holds a back to back title winning Ripon High’s Dodgeball tournament. Perez says, “That was one of my highlights of my life. But, no one can ever say they were a back to back champion.”
Over the years Perez has seen it all. He says the kids here are good kids and he believes everyone can be successful. Perez tries to inspire kids by trying to relate to them and by bringing life skills into History. “I try to bring in like life skills to understand that there’s consequences to life.”
