Senior night has finally arrived for boys volleyball. On April 16, the boys played a fierce game against the Riverbank Bruins.
After JV took the win against The Bruins, varsity immediately started their warm-ups before speeches and pictures could be taken of the seniors.
Coach Tara Maruyma introduced our opponents by gifting each senior with a rose and a Gatorade.
After showing some praise to the mighty Bruins, it was time for Maryuma to welcome our very own seniors, Jesus Ochoa, Johnny Ray, Martin Reyhoza, Anthony Gomez, and Marquell Marshall.
Each senior was honored with a speech and a gift basket, as well as being escorted by their family members.
After speeches and gift baskets were distributed, each senior was able to take as many photos as they wished with the rest of their family.
Once every senior was recognized, it was time for the big game to start.
Throughout each of the sets, varsity made it through fairly easily.
As a team they struggled at times, but overall they were able to overcome their differences and push through the game.
Senior, Jesus Ochoa would like to leave a piece of advice for any future boys wishing to tryout for volleyball.
“For future players, effort never goes unnoticed always give your all and be coach-able.”
The boys have 3 more games until the end of the season, and then playoffs can finally begin.
So make sure to cheer them off as they finish out their season!
