The Student of the Year award is a tremendous role to take on. The recipient of the award embodies the core qualities that are admired at Ripon High. It gives the student a chance to show off their valued traits and ultimately a chance for them to be recognized. This year, the student who takes the spotlight is Emma Smith. 

Emma Smith has 1 older brother. Her favorite hobby outside of school is playing the piano, and on the weekends she loves to spend time with her friends. 

Emma Smith says, “I really look up to my parents because they do so much for me and work super hard for my family.” 

Smith says that if she got the opportunity to nominate someone else from Ripon High, she would nominate, “Clara Schoolland because she is involved in everything and is really smart. She is also 6th in the state for high jump and does band as well.”
