The night of September 5, 2024, marked the very first home game of this year’s girls’ volleyball season, against Pitman high school. This intense game left the high-spirited student section off their seats cheering on the girls, which played an essential role in the teams win. Our team showcased characteristics such as encouragement, teamwork, and determination, which set an example that these girls will leave us with an unforgettable season.

Known for their extreme records of winning streaks, the girls’ varsity volleyball team struck back once again with another win. In the beginning of the varsity game, the first set was concluded with a score of 21:25, leaving the girls behind by 4 points. Although they had a short loss, they decided to not give up, motivate each other, and to not let any teammate feel down, knowing they had plenty of time left for redemption. 

Tied at 22:22 in the second set, the girls resolved to keep their heads up, and reassured each other that the game was not over so they had plenty of time left to score. Ending off with a final score of 24:26, Ripon behind by 2, they decided the game was not over and this was finally their time to catch up.

In the 3rd set, Ripon with a strong start scored the first 2 points, and ended up 11 points ahead of the opposing team, owning them with a remaining score of 25:14. For the thrilling match, two sets were added on, which introduced the girls to new heights, and reminded them that they still had plenty of time left to win.

The 4th set rounded up with a score of 25:21, Ripon ahead by 4 points. During the final, 5th set, the girl’s varsity volleyball team validated their win by a total score of 15:3. With a strong season ahead of us, this was just a glimpse of what is to come and what we should look forward to seeing.
