With the rush of homecoming early in the year, as well as the flurry of events that come with it, the boys water polo preseason shatter’s a two game losing streak with a victory against Mountain House.
On Sep. 11th 2024, Ripon High’s varsity water polo team won their seventh game against Mountain House with a demanding 17-10 as the final score. This victory was great for water polo, as it allowed the boys to get back in their groove and give them momentum going into the rest of their pre-season games!
One of water polo’s most experienced players, Chetan Harvey, was happy with the victory, but held himself and the team accountable for the things they need to work on in order to foster a successful season.
“We built a solid lead, and then we started messing around after that. So more discipline I feel like,” says senior Chetan Harvey.
It wasn’t all negative though, these boys have been playing together throughout all of highschool, so the team chemistry is unmatched.
If the past is a prediction for the future, it is fairly safe to say that water polo will have a great season!
