Freshman Eve Toledo is a part of the RHS Varsity girl’s golf team, she hopes to continue to be on varsity all four years of high school and also to get a scholarship. Toledo has been playing golf only since June! She has since been improving since she started playing for Ripon High and her scores have been improving. Her two most previous scores were a 54 and a 48, in golf the lower the score the better. Toledo has grown to be very passionate about this sport, she practices during her week and whenever she can in her free time.
Toledo says she has a passion for golf because she “enjoys meeting the other girls and bonding with them while playing.”
Another thing that she enjoys about this sport is it’s a peaceful game and she doesn’t ever feel rushed. She finds golf as her comfort, she says she has felt that way ever since she started.
Teammate Sienna Pimentel said “that she’s grateful that she decided to do golf because she’s improved so much since the beginning of the season.”
Pimentel added that “she’s a really good teammate, she’s very supportive, energetic, and lightens the mood whenever we’re tired and if we’ve lost.”
Toledo has really high hopes for her freshman season because altogether they have been doing good as a team and individually. As golf goes on, we hope to continue to see Toledo improve.
