The Ripon High School Freshmen football team made another victorious win against Cesar Chavez high school on Thurs. night of Sept. 26. From the first whistle to the final play, the boys showcased their skill to the audience outstandingly, demonstrating their strategies of teamwork proving to us they were not going to break their streak.
Throughout the first quarter, fans were on the edge of their seats watching the team dominate the field with their paid off hard work and determination, setting the stage for a nail-biting season coming ahead. With number nine, Jacoby Salinas, and number 35, Joshue Gonzalez scored the first two touchdowns. The quarter ended off on a high note with our team leading by 12 points to 0.
Gonzalez stated that for the team to improve they could work on, “Teamwork, confidence, motivation, and working all together.”
Even though the boys won by a large margin, a majority of the players confirmed they didn’t give their all into the game and could’ve put in more effort. Such as, one freshmen, Nikolai Vitz, the teams starting wing and defensive end shared, “I think I could do better by holding my blocks more and trying harder.”
This provides a balanced view displaying self awareness, motivation, and their contributions to the victory of their fourth game of the season. With a strong season and additional wins ahead of us, our Ripon High School Freshman football team has undoubtedly proved to us that they are capable of succeeding while making room for improvement as we watch this memorable season progress.
