As the school year progresses we begin our winter sports season! These athletes have waited for their season and can’t wait to show their abilities on the field or court. Ripons sports are always a fun time and surely, they will continue to be this year.
One of the sports for the winter season is wrestling. Many students have been in the weight room working as hard as they can to ensure they are the best performer on the mat. The head coach for varsity wrestling is Glen White (Boys) and Victoria White (Girls).
Another sport rapidly approaching is soccer. The soccer team is very competitive and surely that will continue this year. For the boys team, the head coach is Jose Montes and for the girls, Bryce Perkins.
A sport widely known around the Ripon High campus is basketball. These young athletes travel from school to school competing for the top spot. The practice non stop and try their hardest to prove they are the best school. The head coach for the boys is Dean Balcao and the girls head coach is John Schneid.
Lastly, a newer sport for Ripon High, is competition cheerleading. This sport is run by Amanda Cockriel and is a unique opportunity for the dancers and gymnasts of the school. These girls participate in cheerleading competitions around the state and their job is to show the spirit of Ripon High.
