October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Ripon High School is stepping up to show support for those affected by this disease. In collaboration with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Medicine of Ripon High School club is leading a fundraising initiative from Oct. 7 to Oct. 25, offering custom bracelets for purchase. The proceeds will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, one of the nation’s most trusted non-profit organizations dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.
Ripon High School will also be having Pink Out dress-up days from Oct. 14 to Oct. 18 to promote school spirit and raise awareness for breast cancer. The week kicks off with Monochrome Monday, where students wear the same color from top to bottom or orange. On Tuesday, students can participate in Twin Tuesday or Rhyme Without Reason, Where they can either match outfits with a friend or dress in hilariously mismatched outfits. Wednesday offers a choice between West Coast or Wild West themes, giving students the chance to channel their inner surfer or cowboy. Thursday is Throwback Thursday, also known as Decades Day, where students can dress in styles from their favorite decade. The week wraps up on Friday with Pink Out to honor the school’s Pink Out tradition.
Breast Cancer Awareness is not just about raising funds or wearing pink, it’s about empowering individuals with the knowledge to protect their health, supporting those affected, and fostering a community of strength and unity. Early detection, timely treatment, and continued research are important to reducing the impact of this unfortunate disease. By spreading awareness, we can help save lives and create a future where no one has to face breast cancer alone. Together, we can continue to fight for a cure, bringing hope and support to all those touched by breast cancer.
