Creativity, imagination, and enjoyment. These are all words that come to mind when you think about art. And for Vanessa Martinez, art is her favorite subject. 

For November, the artist of the month is Vanessa Martinez. She is a sophomore who takes Art One with Mrs. Castle and she is loving every minute of it. Martinez states, “ I love Mrs. Castle’s class because there is music playing and I have creative freedom; The class feels like I can do whatever I want. “ For Vanessa, art seems to bring her a sense of relaxation and peace where she can truly enjoy herself. 

All artists have their personal preferences and Vanessa states, “ With drawing I feel like I have more creativity, and in my opinion painting is very messy and chaotic, “  Vanessa has been having a lot of fun with her art and she plans to continue art classes for the next couple of years. A piece of wisdom Martinez has to give to upcoming artists is, “ If you want to improve all you need to do is practice.”
