The 2024-2025 National Basketball Association season has been interesting for a few reasons. The main reason being that the Philadelphia 76’ers and Milwaukee Bucks are in the midst of being the worst and most washed teams in the modern NBA. 

Both of these teams are filled with talent. The Bucks have Kris Middleton and former MVP Giannis Antetekumpo, while the 76’ers have Joel Embiid and Paul George. Talent is not an issue for either of these teams. So can someone please explain to me how both of these teams have won two games combined? I think it’s a coaching issue. The Bucks were cursed with having Doc Rivers as their head coach. The Bucks have so much defensive talent in the form of Giannis, yet Doc Rivers has his team stuck in a horrible drop-cover defensive scheme. 

The 76’ers on the other hand are suffering for a different reason. I’m playing a game of blame, and I blame Embiid. It has become exceedingly clear that Embiid does not care about the regular season, and with his lack of offensive dominance on the court the 76’ers are brutally shorthanded in a league with loads of talent.

In short, the downfall of the Bucks can be blamed on the horrible coaching of Rivers, and the complete falloff of the 76’ers is almost entirely caused by Embiid’s lack of love and care for basketball.
