On Nov. 9, the Ripon High Indians successfully beat Liberty Ranch in the CIF-SJS D4 Section Championship. The Indians put up a competitive game and ended with a clean sweep by winning all three sets. Some people to make note of throughout the section games are seniors Emeri Lane and Chloe Lautenslager. All these girls fought hard to get to the championship and they surely proved to be the best on the court.
The varsity volleyball team had an undefeated season and they pushed their way through all of the section games as well. This victory for the girls took a lot of not only physical preparation, but also mental.
“Regardless, if you were on the court or the bench, everyone was hyped every game, specifically the bench made sure that whenever we got a point, we were always celebrating. And then on the court, making sure that we take every touch to be with intention,” stated Lane.
With all this time together, they are bound to create new and unforgettable memories. With winning a section championship being a huge accomplishment, they would take these experiences and cherish them in their future.
“Winning the section championship will forever be my favorite memory since we worked so hard and the fact that we won sections in three sets, we literally fell to the floor and hugged one another,” said Lautenslager.
Even though their first round of CIF Nor-Cal was not very successful, all of Ripon High applaud the girls Varsity Volleyball team for bringing home that blue banner!
