As we get close to the end of the first semester, we find ourselves wishing a farewell to a truly remarkable staff member on campus. After four months of dedication, passion and commitment, long-term substitute Señora Adriana Ibarra will be leaving Ripon High. She will leave behind a legacy that has touched the hearts and minds of many students and colleagues. Known for her bright smile, tireless support, and the genuine care expressed to each student, Ibarra has made a lasting impact at RHS.
“She was always nice,” senior Brett Shaw states, “and I can tell she’s always wanted to have a personal connection with each of her students.” Shaw would like to thank her for working hard and “making the best out of this tough situation.”
In this special spotlight, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey of Señora Ibarra, celebrating the milestones and memories, and the differences she has made to our school community. Ibarra hopes to one day become a full time Spanish teacher herself. She is currently balancing being a mom of three, pursuing her teaching credentials at Stanislaus State and is filling in for Señora Jill Mcpherson while she is on medical leave.
“Señora Ibarra is approachable, and she would always have her classroom open to everyone, ” junior Vivian Reyes states. “Even though this was a first time experience for her she did her best and made us feel loved.”
She will be moving onto Weston Ranch for a student teaching opportunity to get her journey started. During her time here, Ibarra has helped with AP Spanish Language, Spanish Heritage II, and Spanish III.
In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family and watching her favorite soccer team, Chivas, play. She also loves to hike and go on spontaneous adventures. Her favorite memory is when her students would come into her class during lunch.
“I want to thank everybody for their help, the staff, and the students, ” Señora Ibarra states. “This position helped me get the experience of what it’s like to be a teacher.”
Some advice she wants to leave her students off with is to know the power they have within themselves and to believe in themselves.
Thank you Señora Ibarra for being such a big light here at Ripon High. We wish you nothing but the best as you embark this new chapter in your life.
