With a new year comes new excitements and goals. Each month students from ASB or leadership come together to select students of the month that show signs of integrity, good character and being a hard worker. To start off the new year, the two students that were picked for being outgoing are Kyra Schneringer and Matthew Tharakan!
Schneringer is a junior at Ripon High and when asked about being a student of the month she stated, “Being named student of the month is an incredible honor. It feels rewarding to have my efforts recognized.” Some of Schneringer’s favorite aspects of Ripon High are the sense of community, involvement in the livestream team as well as participating in RHS’s Peer Assistance Program. After high school, Schneringer plans on attending a four year university to further her education while pursuing a career in performing arts, communications, or possibly a role in the entertainment industry.
Tharakan is currently a sophomore and is involved in many various hobbies. “I love playing tennis… it’s kind of my whole life. I love listening to music, too! I really enjoy baking as well!” Someone that really inspires Tharakan to be the best version of himself is Spider-Man. “He’s a student at day but a hero at night. I guess it really motivates me to do my best because I know people [who] have it way worse than I do, so I might as well be grateful and keep pushing.” Tharakan’s plans after high school are to become a nurse practitioner and slowly build his way up the medical ladder.
Congratulations to our students of the month and continuing to show what being a student of the month means and being an example across campus!
