Ripon High School has something exciting to cheer about this year! A new addition to clubs is the girls dance team founded by captains, Camden Downs and Emmy WIlbur. All the girls other than the captains are dancers, Mallory Moore, Mia Duarte, Maya Camp, and Makeila Gillham. They all introduced cheer to boys basketball and performed iconic performances each halftime. Bringing energy and enthusiasm to the crowd, the dance team has been officially an incredible idea to get students and the audience engaged throughout all games.
Camden and Emmy’s dedication and hard work has all paid off, and Ripon High is more than thrilled to have such a spirited dance team cheering on their athletes. Their partnership helped a close-knit group of girls come together to bring something fresh to our games and rally’s. The two girls both brought their vision to real life and created a team that not only showcases incredible talent in dance, but boosted the entire morale of the basketball team and school. Freshman, Mallory Moore states that the dance team has impacted her positively because, “It gives me something to do, and being able to see new people helps and it’s something I’m really passionate about.” With all the girls’ talent and passion bonded together, the future is looking bright for this new addition to our school’s extracurricular activities.
