On Aug 19, 2025, the Lady Indians volleyball team opened their season against Gregori High School. The Lady Indians had high energy on the court, and this was the crucial part for Ripon’s success. From their determination and teamwork to their amazing serves and sets, the Lady Indians had an amazing start to their season.
The girls varsity volleyball team started their first set with their strong communication skills which helped them move fluently on the court. Along with their communications skills, they’ve also been practicing special techniques such as serving and setting, which led the Lady Indians to beat Gregori by a large amount. With their superior communication and high energy they won the first set 25-4 which set the precedent for the rest of the game.
Two girls from Ripon High, sophomore Ashlyn Malone and senior Adrianna Dorn, performed their best on the court and encouraged others to not give up.
“ For our first game as a team, I was very proud of how we all stuck together throughout the game” Stated Malone. “ And along with our teamwork we also have been prioritizing our skills and making sure they stay sharp.” Malone was one of the pillars of the game and she was a key part to the team’s success.
Along with Malone’s effort and high energy, Dorn had a great night with her amazing hits and fierceness on the court. “I think a game highlight was when our freshman got the final kill,” Dorn said. “I think she’s been pretty nervous to play as a freshman on varsity, and I think that was super exciting for her to get the final point.” The Lady Indians showed not only their skill but also their unity and ability to support one another, taking the second set (25-16) and proving that they are ready to make this season a memorable one.
After a slight slip in the third set, this being the level of the Indians’ play settling down, they brought their energy to an all time high and this was the element that helped end the game. The Lady Indians secured the third set with another 25-16 win completing their sure victory over the Gregori Eagles.
This is just the beginning of what their season is going to look like and we hope everyone will come out and support the lady Indians!
