With Sept just starting the Girl’s Volleyball Varsity team continues to keep their momentum going, beating Sierra High School in a great 3 set game. On Sept 2 with the first set being a score of 19-25, the Lady Indians fought even harder in the next 2 sets to get the scores to 13-25 and 14-25. Not only did they put up a great score they also had energy and great chemistry on the court.
Both teams moved in perfect rhythm- digs, sets, and hits going back and forth with high intensity. Every point ended with chants and cheers from the crowd. Points were made from balls gliding the out line or diving saves that kept the rally alive. Sweat shone across the players faces as they hustled for every ball. The loud squeaks of the sneakers echoed throughout the gym. The lady Indians consistently communicated and kept a high energy. All the above led them to a victory against Sierra High.
Junior, Kennedy Everhart, says that “having a good defense is the most important skill in volleyball.”
As a team the girls had 45 kills.
Junior, Jorie Eskes, getting 11 of those kills, says that she “tries to be there for the underclassmen on her team.”
She shows this by being such a hype girl for everyone on her team, and cheering extra loud when her teammates do great things.
The girls shut down Sierra High as they maintained their 8-1 record. With each serve, the tension built, and the game wasn’t just about skill but about determination that allowed them to walk out with a win. Let’s see how far the Lady Indians get this season.
