With the beginning of fall, RHS flag football is starting to gain traction as they reach the half way mark of their season. On September 9th, 2025, the RHS Flag Football team snatched up a dominant victory with a 27-0 win vs Stagg. Bumping their record up to 7-5. From the start to finish, the team showcased sharp offense and some lock down defense to keep Stagg scoreless.
Quarterback Phoenix Lucero led the way for the Lady Indians, consistently connecting with receiver Ava Aguirre to keep the offense moving. Throw after throw Lucero continued to drop dimes, leaving Stagg’s defense stunned. The defense was equally impressive for the Lady Indians as they racked up interceptions. Ripon defender Teagan Osborn brought down two of these to give the Lady Indians the ball again. It looked like the Lady Indians had everything going the right way for them.
“Our defense was like a wall in this game”, Freshman LB Aubree Fleming stated after the win,”If we play like this everytime there is no way anyone can stop us”.
Every player contributed to the victory as they capped off the night with another great throw from Lucero to make the score 27-0. In total Lucero threw for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. It seemed like the Lady Indians clicked on both sides of the ball that night, proving to the other teams in the TVL that they could be real contenders this season. The Lady Indians will be back at it again in McNair on September 11th.
