Wednesday Sept. 24, was national See You At The Pole day. This is a global movement, led by Christian-students. At RHS this year the turn out was more than expected. Students from every grade came and enjoyed this spiritual event. There were youth pastors and student, there were students from other high schools too. Principal Keith Rangel was there, there were other faculty as well.
The planning that went into this was intense. Other years didn’t have as great a turn out. Sophomore Gianna Balding has told us, “I thought see you at the pole went very well. At first we didn’t have that many people from 7-7:30, a lot more people started showing up, and a lot of people were really curious about what [was] going on.” The turn out was incredible, and the people who organized were very grateful for it.
Both Christian United and Faithful Ones worked really hard to make sure that See You At The Pole got the publicity it deserved. Junior Addy Lane President of Christian United,” Well the past two years, we usually only had at most ten people and it only took, like, five minutes. But this year it was definitely more structured and we had so many, like, teachers, pastors, and students.” This year, when the work was put in, the Lord provided. Not only were students involved in the organizing, but so were faculty and pastors.
A lot of students showed up. Freshman Lily Leatherman said, “I thought it was good.” She was one of many freshman who showed up to pray over the school. She said “A lot more people showed up.” This was in comparison to the elementary school See You At The Pole.
Junior Andrew Walker said, “I think it was great to see a bunch of people from the school collectively, just come together and praise the Lord. It was just an uncommon sight to see. It was just nice to see, and just so you can be bold in your faith.” This event was something that affected the students who have never seen anything like that.
