The Flag Football program at RHS celebrated grand achievements on a very important night. Before the game whistle blew, the seniors of the team were walked down the field by loved ones and given gift baskets full of gifts from the underclassmen. Each and every senior’s future plans, favorite memory, and advice for future players were spoken across the field so they can leave a lasting impression for the targeted audience.
The Lady Indians fought hard to keep up with ,their rival team, the Escalon Cougars. This was not only their last game, but in order to move onto playoffs, the girls needed this victory. There was a huge pressure for these ladies to succeed and they were able to push through that.
“During the game all that was going through my mind was that we had to win in order to make it to playoffs.” Senior Angela Martinez Hernandez said, “Even though I was nervous, I knew we had to try our best to meet this goal we’ve had for the whole season.”
This passion for the win helped the Indians score the game winning touchdown on the last couple of minutes of the match. This ended the game as an 18-13 game with an Indian victory. The girls jumped with joy as they won their final league game that wrapped up the 25-26 season; while the seniors were filled with a bitter sweet moment.

As the lights dimmed, hugs, photos, and smiles filled the field. The night marked both an ending and a beginning — a farewell to high school memories and the start of new chapters for each senior honored. The Lady Indians will face off Lathrop in their first playoff game of the 2023 Sac- Joaquin Section on Oct.29.
Goodluck on your match Lady Indians and congratulations to the Flag Football 2025 seniors.
