Many Ripon High students received an award for earning a perfect score on the SBAC, a test students took last year for math and english. The students got their awards at the school board meeting on September 12. These students were Shannon Johnson, Nicolas Illari, Bailey Gillihan, Molly Ysit, Andrew Goodspeed, Kiana Mikami, Morgan Brown, Caleb Carlson, Cory Jacobo Andrade, and Brandon Gunnarson.
“I did not expect to get a perfect score because I knew that I liked math, however I realize that people make mistakes and I expected myself to make mistakes as well,” said Shannon Johnson, who earned a perfect score in the math section her 8th grade year. Many students expected to earn a high grade, however some people give their best effort and accepted the grade they earned.
“To prepare for the test, I tried to focus and work hard throughout the year so I wouldn’t miss anything,” said Nicholas Ilardi, a freshman who got a perfect score on ELA last year. The SBAC tests become harder each year, but these students continue to persevere and give their best effort each school year.
“Last year I earned a perfect score on math and english and have gotten perfect scores in math on the previous tests from 4th-6th grade,” said Ilardi. As these students continue to strive to earn their perfect score, many students including Brown, Carlson, Andrade, and Gunnarson astonishingly strive to receive perfect score on the SBAC tests in high school.
Ripon High students prove their learning abilities and improvements once again on the SBAC test and will continue to do so throughout the years.
