The Raiders have been approved to move to Las Vegas. In 2020, the Las Vegas Raiders will play in an estimated $1.9 billion stadium. However, the Raiders will be playing in Oakland for both the 2017 and 2018 seasons. After their successful season in Oakland, many fans were hoping that the Raiders would stay in the city, but that will not be the case.
The players are overwhelmed with emotion including star quarterback Derek Carr. He exclaims to CNN that “I feel the pain of our fans in Oakland and I also see the joy of our fans in Vegas. As players, we will show up and give it everything we have.”
This isn’t the first time that the Raiders moved out of Oakland. In 1983, Oakland moved to Los Angeles after a legal battle and stayed for 12 years. During that period they won their third and final championship, but afterward didn’t have any noteworthy performances
This move could end in the same result as the move to Los Angeles or the Las Vegas Raiders could be the name for many years to come
