The Girls’ Golf team made their way to Orestimba High School for a non-league, preseason match on August 22.
Official score was not kept due to it being a practice match. However, sophomores , Myra and Bianca Toledo both shot 44 and senior Emily Harris shot a 53.
“I did good since it was a hard course,” junior Myra Toledo said about her performance.
Some players felt that they didn’t play their best, but they have fun while they’re out there.
Eleventh grader, Haley Meece said, “I have room for improvement, but I really enjoy it and I’m out there to get better”.
The team has high hopes for this upcoming season and is looking forward to a season to get to know one another and to improve.
“We are in kind of a rebuilding this year. We are a young team. I am looking forward to seeing each girls’ games improve,” Coach Eric Dambrosio said about his team.
Dambrosio also stated he would like to see the golfers “steadily” improve in their scoring average and learn to “stick with the process” this season.
As for the players, they hope to have a good time this season and hope they are successful.
“I want us to improve in our short game and our shots,” Toledo said.
The Girls’ Golf team first official match is Tuesday, August 29, against their rival, Escalon.
The team feels confident that they will do well this upcoming season and that they will have a lot of success.
“I have a good feeling about this season,” Meece said, “I think it’s gonna be awesome!”
