The JROTC Battalion participated in a sports competition hosted by Weston Ranch High School. One event in particular is called The Games. The Games is a team event with various events performed by a team. The events for the Weston Ranch Sports Competition were a dodgeball shootout, horseshoes, lawn darts, a golf chipping portion, and a golf putting portion. The tiebreaker event was a game of horseshoes. The team was four members: Adrian Carrillo, Grace Lewis, Sangana, and their captain Samuel Ehrenberg.
“Our best game would have to be either the dodgeball shoot out or golf teeing, and our worst would be lawn darts,” said team captain Ehrenberg.
The Ripon JROTC team managed to hit three out of 12 shots for dodgeball and dodged all of the opposing shots. The Ripon team only scored one point out of 12 tries for lawn darts. The team captain also said that they did better than they expected that they would for the golf events.
“We could practice and work on our aim more,” said Ehrenberg
The team captain felt that the most intense event was the tiebreaker because it was determining their final standings. The Ripon JROTC team tied for 2nd in the games event, but lost the tiebreaker and received 3rd place.
“I feel that we did great but we have a lot of room for improvement,” said team captain Ehrenberg.
