Girls golf was able to beat Summerville on Thursday, September 28th by 4 strokes. They went in knowing that beating Summerville would be tough, and the girls did not have too much confidence before and during the match.
“We went in, not expecting to win, but they are a good team and we then we ended up playing them and beating them. We really stepped it up,” says Kassidy Isham, who is on the girls golf team.
They left in higher spirits, however, after beating Summerville by four strokes. Bianca Toledo led, shooting 48, Myra Toledo following closely behind with 49, then Kassidy Isham with 52, and Emily Harris shooting 54.
“We played pretty good,” says Myra Toledo, “we just cleaned up our shots and it saved us strokes because we only won by four.”
Myra Toledo, Bianca Toledo, Kassidy Isham, Emily Harris, Haley Meece, and Maria Soto were the six players who took on Summerville in the close match.
“Our fives and sixes really stepped it up and we ended up actually taking one of their scores and they did really well,” Isham says.
The girls are optimistic about their season and are determined to work hard and do well.
“I am excited to see how we do,” Toledo says, “I just love golf because there are always ways to challenge yourself and that makes it really fun” Toledo says.
