Fans Flipped ‘Upside Down’
A review of the highly anticipated “Stranger Things” season two.
In 2016, Netflix aired a new show called ‘Stranger Things’, which was about the supernatural obstacles that the friends and family of a 12-year-old boy who went missing have to overcome. It takes place in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the early-to-mid 1980’s. After the first season grew in popularity, the network producers and the actors decided to continue the story with another season, along with an exclusive behind-the-scenes series with the cast discussing season two.
In season two, you will see many beloved characters return as well as some exciting new characters and even closure for some unsolved questions left in season one. For those of you who have yet to see season two, as it aired October 27th, you can look forward to a new love interest for Will’s mom, Joyce, a new main character named Max, and a new ‘pet’ for Dustin. Also in this season, we see Eleven letting her hair grow and Nancy facing some tough decisions, about her boyfriend and her best friend, you’ll have to watch to find out more!
If you have yet to even watch season one of Stranger Things, take it from three freshmen fans, Bella DiGiulio, Gianna Welsh, and Kelly Nguyen. All the girls seem to agree that the show has a great plot line along with amazing actors who are the key to make the story come alive. DiGiulio and Welsh both think of Eleven was a favorite character because of her intriguing powers and her background but Nguyen favors Mike Wheeler because he is a leader, caring and ‘adorable’. DiGiulio also says she enjoys the show because of the ’80’s vibe’ and the networks modern take on a beloved decade.
When asked about season two, all the girls think that the character will grow successfully but Welsh theorizes that one of the characters won’t get their happy ending as this is a common theme in TV shows of this similar drama category. The girls are also all excited because of how good season one was as well as how thrilling the trailers are.
In the words of Welsh, “Eggos”.
