Everyone Loves “Love, Simon” and so Should You
Tender. emotional and affecting, Love, Simon was a wonderful film that focused on the life of a high schooler who kept himself in the closet, too afraid to come out. The film portrayed a real high school environment and the emotions some teens have to face everyday. It specifically focuses on the life of a kid who was afraid of what would happen to him if he were to come out to his fellow peers. The actors and actresses were able to capture the feelings and emotions the film was meant to portray. While the film may be about a closeted gay, and not all can relate, the movie does an outstanding job of allowing for all types of students relate to each person’s story and life, not just Simon’s.
In the film you are taken upon the adventure of Simon Spies’ (Nick Robinson) secret love life. He began to receive and send anonymous emails to another closeted gay who attends the same school. Throughout the movie he tries to discover who this other guy is, while trying to find the courage to come out to his friends and family. The movie is filled with ups and downs, laughs and cries, and sadness and happiness.
The film has helped to inspire many people, whether they are closeted or have already come out, to accept and be themselves. It has also helped people gain an understanding on what the people in the LGBT community have to face.
All in all the film, actors and actresses are amazing. You experience so many different feelings of happiness and sadness. I would highly recommend you would go and watch this film. You will gain a new perspective for your life and the life of others after watching it.
