Have you heard the amazing news? Sports are finally returning here at Ripon High and so many people are excited. This news not only brought so many opportunities back for athletes, but it has brought excitement to fans.

Not every sport has been able to be brought back to campus, but the students and staff are thankful for the ones that have been approved. Some of the sports that are in play right now include, Boys tennis, Girls Golf, cross country and Swimming. Of course there are restrictions to these sports, but that doesn’t hold our athletes back.

I’m excited to be able to get out of my house and get to do an extracurricular activity. Being able to watch sports has always been a fun bonus.”, said Bradley Eldredge,

who is a  freshman on the tennis team.

Bradley is a part of the boys tennis team, and not only does he get the opportunity to participate in the event of re-opening, he has also been able to watch sports.

This news has brought so much excitement to the whole school. Teachers as well as students are so happy to bring familiarity back to campus.

Many sports have also started the process of conditioning, such as football and Softball.

Softball player Monique Toledo Said, “ My softball season just started and  I’m pretty stoked about it!”.

So many athletes are ecstatic as they watch their favorite sport begin to develop into the process of actually getting to play.

The girls golf team has also been  able to start their season. Junior Adriana DiGiulio stated “The only thing I could say is different from last year is the way we are playing. We don’t play with the other team so it’s fun to play with my teammates.”

So even though some things may not be the same, they are still finding many ways to have a great season.

Everyone here on campus has high hopes to watch more sports getting these great opportunities, and their wishes start to become a reality.

“I’m glad that everyone will be able to experience playing the sport they love with their friends and overall just having the opportunity we have been looking forward to all year,” says Toledo.
