Every year, rival games are always the one game players and coaches are circling on their calendars. This game is no different as the Ripon High Indians host the Escalon Cougars in the final home game for the 2022-2023 school year.

As the Ripon team was warming up, seniors were getting ready to do the annual senior night walk. Before the game began, players walked out of the tunnel with their family as a short introduction was announced about each individual player’s time involved in RHS football.

Escalon started the game by scoring 12 points in the first quarter while Ripon was scoreless after a couple three and outs to start the game. The Indians were still scoreless as the Cougars scored ten more points going into halftime Escalon was beating Ripon 22-0.

Returning from the half Escalon came out as they did in the first half scoring 14 points. With Ripon struggling on offense whether it was dropped passes, penalties, or bobbled passes, the Indians ultimately ended up losing 43-0 to their rival, Escalon.

As the season is coming to a close, the Indians will travel to Hughson on Oct. 28 to take on the Huskies in their final regular season game. As usual, JV starts at 5 and Varsity at 7. Come support your Indians to make one last push for a playoff run!
