Spooky season crept up on us faster than we could tell! Some of you might not have even been able to make plans for Halloween, so if for whatever reason you find yourself on the couch or in your bed on this good night of All Hallows’ Eve, here are the four best Halloween movies to keep you entertained.

Number one: Halloween (2018). This movie is a continuation of the classic “John Carpenter’s Halloween” made in 1978. This newer movie follows the doings of Michael Myers after he escapes the psych ward he’d been in for over forty years. The resolution being Michael Myers is captured and “killed” by the family of one of his surviving victims. With this film being a rated R horror/thriller, it is best not suitable for children. So if you’re being accompanied by one feel free to kick them out for this flick.

Number two: Hubie Halloween (2020). Starring Adam Sandler, this movie is an enjoyable comedy/thriller. Protagonist Hubie Dubois (Sandler) spends his Halloween night making sure the residents of his town Salem, Massachusetts are protected, even though he is constantly mocked and teased by the children and other adults residing in Salem. It can be found on Netflix rated PG-13 with a time of 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Number three: Hocus Pocus (1993). A true Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus is for the inner child inside everyone. If you haven’t already watched this movie it is about the coming alive of the “Sanderson Sisters” who were once rightly accused of witchcraft. They came back from the dead when someone lit their black candle, and tried to take the soul of a child in order to stay young. This film can be found on Disney+ and be enjoyed by the whole family!

Number four: Scream (1996). Another classic Halloween movie that is sure to thrill you. This film entails the killings of a teenage murderer using a phone game about horror movies to lead them to their death. As it’s rated R and displays many scenes of gore and violence, if you are willing to watch this horror/mystery it is available on HBO Max, with a length of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
