Veteran’s Day

Veterans+Day

Veterans Day takes place on Friday, November 11 and it is a day of remembrance for veterans who have served in the military. On Veterans Day many people like to go to historical museums to celebrate the holiday. Many former Veterans often speak to the youth and big groups of people about the importance of the holiday and why it is so important to have a good military.

The holiday was originally called Armistice Day which ended the first World War on November 11, 1918. Now, this holiday is celebrated all across the United States and students get the day off of school for this holiday. The point of the day off is not for a vacation, it is for a day of reflection and a day to think about each and every Veteran who has risked their life to protect and serve our country.

Since WW1 the United States has fought in all of these wars which are all celebrated on November 11. The wars are, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, and the Afghanistan War. These are just some of the main wars that have taken place since 1918. Thank you to all of the veterans that have served our country.

I love Veterans Day because it is a day that I can celebrate friends and family who have served for our country. I just sit down and realize that they risk their lives . That is why I like Veterans Day so much.
